AnDOSid: DOS Tool for Android

A new product released by SCOTT HERBERT for Android mobile phones,Its AnDOSid - the DOS tool for Android Phones. The rise of groups like Anonymous and LuzSec, as well as constant India / Pakistan cyberwar has raised the issue of cyber-security high(er) in the minds of web owners.

Pentesting tools exist to simulate such attacks and help website security people defend against them, however for the most part they currently only exist for desktop computers. Mobile phones have, over the last few years, grown from simple devices that send and receive calls to mobile computing platforms which can be purchased for less than $100 a device.

AnDOSid fills that gap, allowing security professionals to simulate a DOS attack (An http post flood attack to be exact) and of course a dDOS on a web server, from mobile phones. AnDOSid is actively being developed and I welcome feedback from the security community as to how you would like the application to evolve.

What's in this version:

  • Requires Internet access to send the http post data

  • Requires phone state to access the IMEI (one of the two identifiers sent with each post)

AnDOSid can be downloaded from the Android Market place and costs just £1 or Rs.74.58/-Only.

How to Send a Self Deleting SMS

In this post i will tell you how to send a self deleting SMS to any mobile that is automatically deleted after user reads it.
Basically this technique is called SAFE-TEXT. It’s a technique where a message destroys itself after being read. If you want to call it the Data-centric Suicide Message, that’s fine too. This is a website that allows you to send such type of sms for free of cost after registering on it. But it has limitation that you can send only 10 SMS a day.
So here’s the thing. With Wikileaks on one side and British libel law on the other, there’s room for a tool that lets you say what needs to be said, but without it falling into the wrong hands in the process.
What it does is allow you to send an expletive-laden opinion of your boss to a co-worker, or an it’s-in-the-public’s-interest-to-know-this leak to your friend on the Guardian (or Wired), without it having a chance to be read by said boss, or unsaid MP.

Note: This trick should only work for British mobile network operators.
Here’s how to use it:
  1. To register and activate, text WIRED to 83118 (charged at your standard network rate). You’ll be able to send up to 10 messages daily.

  2. If you’re the sender, the message will show your name and number.

  3. Write your libel-ridden hate speech and hit send.

  4. The receiver will then be sent a text telling them they have been sent a Wired Safe Text with a link to the mobile internet site that hosts your message.

  5. When they click through they will activate Safe Text. They will only have a few seconds to read the text (so don’t make it too long) before it self-destructs.

Reset your Mobile Memory Card Password in Just 2 Minutes

We usually set password for our memory card for privacy and security, but the common mistake every one does at least once in out life time forgetting password. If you set password for mobile memory card, then you should be not forget the password. If you does then the only option is to format your memory card with the help of the card reader and eventually the loss of all your data stored on it. There is a way to break the security wall. If you are a Symbian device lover then no need to worry about the password. You can crack them in few minutes.

In this tutorial I am going to teach you how to reset your memory card password in easy step. Before we start you need to have X-plore (application used to explore your system files and folder even the hidden folders in your device)

Step1: Install X-Plore in your mobile. If you want to download X-Plore search around internet you can download free trail.

Step2: Open your X-plore apps and Press 0(Zero) and check which you have marked the "show the system files".

Step3: Once you done that now go to the following path C:/Sys/Data/Mmcstore

Step4: Once you reached there you need to press "3" under option to set it in the Hex-viewer.

Step5: See the third column you will able to see a line of code ! TMSD02G (c??"?x???6?2?6?2?6). Just check the character between the "?" it is your password ie: 62626

Note: If you have not set the password, then you will not able to gain access to C:/Sys/Data

This Mobile Phone Charger Needs No Electricity

usb mobile charger
Here’s a device that could be useful to millions of households in India and elsewhere who have mobile phones but sometimes not get enough electricity to charge their phones.
TES NewEnergy, a company based in Japan, has created a new USB based charger that can charge your mobile phone without requiring electricity – all it needs is a heat source which could be as simple as a pan of boiling water or even a campfire.
The device, known as Pan Charger, converts heat into electric energy and that can charge any cellphone, MP3 player or other mobile device over a USB connection in 3-5 hours. The tech specs say that the USB connection also has a built-in radio and a lantern – things that you often need when there’s no power.

Pan Charger is already available for purchase in Japan according to an AFP report but, at $299 a unit, it is not a very affordable option. That could however change as the company does have plans to introduce the device in other developing countries.
Pan Charger isn’t the only device that can charge mobile phones without a power outlet. There’s Yogen, a hand-powered charger that works like a Yo-yo. You attach the cell phone to Yogen over USB and pull/release the cord for a few minutes to charge the phone.
The best idea however comes from Kenya. They have turned a bicycle into a mobile phone charger – ride your bike for a few kilometers, which most villagers do anyway, and your phone is charged.

17 Simple Symbian Hacks to make your Life Easier !

Tip 1 : Using the edit button (abc or pencil button)
Heres how… in the inbox for example; u wanna delete multiple sms, simply hold the edit button, scroll down, and then, press c to delete the marked sms. The edit button can also b used to copy and past text in sms, simply hold it and scroll across, choose copy.
Tip 2 : Formatting your phone after something f***s up
Press *#7370#, then enter the lock code, which is the sec code of the fone. NOTE: battery must be full, else if the format is disrupted by low batt, consequences could be deadly :P
I’ve heard the code *#7780# works too, pretty much the same i think.

Tip 4: Save on battery and system memory being by using the task manager
The task manager can be accessed by holding down the menu button!! Press and hold the Menu key to open the application switching window, where you can switch between applications. If a program hangs and you can’t shut it down, select the application in the application switching window and press ‘C’ to kill it. It’s also a faster way to exit programs.
Tip 5: Your IMEI number
Type *#06# to display your IMEI serial number, very valuable for the unlocking your phone to other sim cards
Tip 6: Your firmware version
Type *#0000# to view which firmware version you are running
Tip 7: Protect yourself and your data
If you would like to avoid being “blue jacked”, keep bluetooth turned off, or set your phone’s visibility to hidden.
Tip 8: Operator logos
Use a filemanager like FExplorer or SeleQ to add the folders: “c:/system/Apps/phone/oplogo”. Add a .bmp picture to folder “oplogo” and restart your phone! The .bmp picture size needs to be: 97 x 25 pixels.
Tip 9: BlueJacking
Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can send things like phonebook/address book contacts, pictures & notes to other Bluetooth enabled devices wirelessly over a range of about 10 metres. So, we’ve got past the boring part. Now, using a phone with Bluetooth, you can create a phonebook contact and write a message, eg. ‘Hello, you’ve been bluejacked’, in the ‘Name’ field. Then you can search for other phones with Bluetooth and send that phonebook contact to them. On their phone, a message will popup saying “‘Hello, you’ve been bluejacked’ has just been received by Bluetooth” or something along those lines. For most ‘victims’ they will have no idea as to how the message appeared on their phone.
Tip 10: Turn the camera click sound off
Turn on/off the “click” sound made by the camera by selecting the ‘Silent’ profile or by turning warning tones on/off – Menu > Profiles > “select your activated profile” > Personalise > Warning tones > On/Off. (This also effects the sound of Java games and apps). Warning :There are a few countries where the camera clicking sound has been made compulsory by the government.
Tip 11: Display an image when someone’s calling
Menu > Contacts > “select a contact card” > Options > Edit > Options > Add thumbnail > “choose an image”.
Tip 12: Add a personal ringing tone to a contact
Menu > Contacts > “select a contact card” > Options > Open > Options > Ringing tone > “choose a ringing tone”.
Tip 13: Delete all messages from your Inbox at once
Menu > Messaging > Inbox > Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark all > Options > Delete.
Tip 14: Record a phone conversation!!!
Menu > Extra’s > Recorder > Options > Record sound clip.
Note: short beeps are audible during call registration.
But there is a 60 second limitation so if you want unlimited sound recording get this application from the net: Extended Recorder.
Tip 15: Shortcut keys
>> While writing text, press “#” to switch between upper and lower case and Dictonary on/off (predictive text input).
>> Press and hold “#” to switch between Alpha mode and Number mode.
>>Keyboard shortcuts for zooming and rotating images in Images:
1 = zoom in, 0 = zoom out, press and hold to return to the normal view.
2 = rotate anticlockwise, 9 = rotate clockwise, * = full screen.
>>In standby mode, press and hold the right soft key to activate voice dialling.
>>You can customize both soft keys located below the screen (in standby mode):
Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Standby mode > Left/Right selection key > “select an application”.
>>In standby mode. press scroll key center (joystick) to go directly to Contacts.
>>In standby mode, press and hold 0 to launch your wap home page.
>>In Menu or any subfolder, press numbers 1 – 9 to start the application at that location.
123
456
789
>>In standby mode,
45# + dials the number on your sim in memory slot 45.
50# + dials slot 50 and so on.
Tip 16: Start up in Safe Mode so no ‘auto start’ apps will be run
To make sure that no memory-resident programs start when you reboot your phone,
hold down the pencil key when you turn on the phone and hold it on untill you have to enter your PIN code.
(When you have trouble booting up the phone with the MMC in it because it got corrupted for some reason, this trick will almost always let you boot up the phone so you can remove the latest installed app which might have caused the problem or if your phone is “unrepairable” you can still back up your important data before you do a format.)
Tip 17: To reset your wallet, should you forget your code
Type in: *#7370925538#
This will reset the wallet code, the wallet contents will be deleted.

How to Hide pictures from your Symbian Phone's Gallery !

When you take pictures of copy image files to your S60 device, they will be appeared in the Gallery application. In some case, you don’t want to appear them. What should you do? The answer is set the file attribute to "hidden".
In order to do that, you need a file manager is capable of browsing to all folders. Unfortunately the default S60′s file manager won’t do the job. You need a more powerful one, for example Y-Browser.
After downloading and installing Y-Browser, run it, select your image and selectOptions | File | Attributes menu. Set "Hidden" field to "Yes".

IF ANYONE GET ANOTHER TRICK TO HIDE THE PICTURES FROM GALLERY NOT FROM THE STORAGE THEM PLEASE INFORM BY COMMENTING ON THIS POST

Overclock your Nexus One to 1.113 GHz

So you've got the latest superphone from Google and for some strange reason, that 1GHz Snapdragon processor just isn't fast enough.  What's an AndroidGuy to do?  Overclock it yo!  One of the guys over at XDA Developers, persiansown, has found a way to overclock his Nexus One and get speeds of 1.113GHz.  Not only is this faster, but according to him, it's stable as well.  Ever the giving hacker, persiansown is providing the kernel and step-by-step instructions.  First up, you'll need root access and Cyanogen's latest ROM.Obligatory Warning: Rooting/Hacking/Overclocking may result in damage to your handset. All of this is done at your own risk and we take no responsibility for any damage you inflict upon your (insert Android handset).
Having said that, you can find the instructions at the original post on XDA-Developers!  We've also copied/pasted them as well.

Instructions:
  1. Root your Nexus and install the latest Cyanogen rom (5.0.2 as of 2/15/2010)
  2. Download SetCPU from either XDA for free, or support the developer as I did and buy it on the market
  3. Reboot into fastboot and type "fastboot flash zimage zImagekmobs"
  4. Once your phone boots, open SetCPU and tell it to autodetect your CPU (Don't choose Nexus from the list!)
  5. Set the max clock to the highest and tell it to set on boot.
  6. Enjoy!

How to fully customize the look of your ROM with Metamorph

Scan to Download
Have you ever seen a theme online and thought, “Why can’t I just have the app drawer tab and leave the rest stock?” Or, “I wish I could change my bootscreen and leave the rest alone.”
Well, developer Stericson has found the answer. He’s a very well known dev around these parts and you can thank him for making an app called Metamorph.
Metamorph is basically an app that lets you pick apart pieces of the UI on your custom ROM and theme it however you like! So you can pick apart the pieces of themes you like and combine them to make a whole new theme catered to your liking.
The app can be a little tricky if you’re using it for the first time but that’s why I’m going to walk  you through it and gain full control over the look of your favorite ROM.

First thing to do is download Metamorph from the Market (the donate version works better than the free one).
Then find a theme (or part of a theme) that SUPPORTS Metamorph.
Here’s a list of them on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt…
If you want the Espresso theme by Ultra Spikey that I used in this video: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt…
Always perform a Nandroid or save using SwitchROM/BART before modifying any part of your ROM in case of incompatibilities.
To apply a theme, make a folder on the root of your sd card and name it “AndroidThemes”.
Then find the theme (or part of the theme) that’s compatible with your ROM and download the zip file.
Extract the zip file of the theme into the “AndroidThemes” folder.
Now, open your Metamorph app, click on the “Existing Themes” button and look through the folders until you find the .thm file.
Select it and you will be asked to apply the whole theme or parts of the theme (if its a FULL theme).
Select “Apply All” or pick the specific parts and you’re all set!
Note: Some themes or parts of a theme may require a reboot.
That wasn’t so hard, was it? Originally I was pretty hard on Metamorph simply beause I didn’t know how to use it. But now that I do, I think its a such a great idea and will provide a better user experience for anyone looking to customize the look of their custom ROM.
Thanks to all the awesome themers out there! You guys do amazing things and we all appreciate it!
Special thanks to Stericson for making this app so we could all gain a better user experience from our phones.

How to Hack a Symbian S60 Phone to install Unsigned Applications

If you own a Nokia Symbian S60 phone, you will most likely be aware of the fact that it is not possible to install applications on it unless they are signed using a valid certificate. Have you been trying to install applications on your S60 3rd or 5th edition phone but ending up getting a certificate error? At times, this can be really annoying; but here is a smart solution to this problem!
Here in this post, I will show you how to hack your Symbian S60 3rd or 5th edition smartphone, so as to modify the phone’s firmware and completely bypass the mandatory signing requirement. So, once you are done with this one time hack, you should be able to install any compatible application including unsigned and those with an expired certificate.

What is the Need for Signing Applications?
From the 3rd edition onwards, all the Symbian S60 applications need to be signed in order to ensure their integrity, so that it would not be possible for a third party to tamper with the application. Also, signing ensures that you always install applications from a trusted source.
However, there are many freeware and beta applications that come unsigned as the developers cannot afford to buy a symbian certificate. Hence, it can be a real nightmare for the users who need to install such applications on their phones. So, here is a step-by-step procedure to hack your phone and permanently disable this security feature.

1. Download HelloOX2 V2.03 or the latest version from the HelloOX2 Official Website.
HelloOX2 is an excellent tool to hack Symbian S60 3rd, 5th and Symbian^3 smartphones which makes it possible to install a root certificate by gaining full access to the phone’s system files. With this capability, you can install anything you want on your phones without the need to worry about the annoying certificate error!
2. The signed version of HelloOX2 demands for a donation and hence, only the unsigned version is available for free download. So, if you have the unsigned version, you need to sign it before installing on your phone. In order to sign any application, you need to have the certificate and the key file which can be obtained as follows:
§                  Go to the OPDA Website, get registered and login to your account.
§                  Click on the “Apply Certificate” tab, enter the model number and the IMEI of your phone and then click on “Submit and Upload” button.
§                  It will usually take up 24 hours for your certificate and key file to be generated and uploaded. To check the status of your certificate click on “My Certificate” tab. If the certificate is ready for the download you will see something as follows:

§                  Download the certificate and the key file on to your computer. Also download the SisSigner tool to sign your HelloOX2 application.
§                           Your HelloOX2 application is now signed and ready for the installation.
3. Install the signed HelloOX2 application on your phone and run it to start the hacking process, which is completely automatic. Within a minute your phone will be hacked. Once this is done, say goodbye to the annoying certificate error and install any application.
§                  Open the SisSigner, load the HelloOX2.sis, certificate and the key file as shown below and click on “Sign”. Leave the “Key File Password” field blank.
